We LOVE our pets! Students ages 5 - 8 will enjoy a week of painting and/or drawing your favorite animals from farm life, jungle animals, your adorable pet(s), and more!

At the end of the week, campers will participate in a mini-reception with their instructor and afterward bring their artwork home to share with friends and family. Campers are encouraged to bring in photos of their pets!

Back by Popular Demand! Experience the world of ArtXtravaganza, where creativity is the name of the game. In this fun studio art class, campers ages 6 - 10 will conceptualize, design, and create art projects in such mediums as painting, sculpting, papier-mâché and drawing. Whatever medium they are working in, they will be guided through proper use of tools and techniques that will help build their knowledge and expertise of that art form.

Fashion Illustration and Design is a comprehensive course designed to equip students with the skills necessary to excel in the dynamic world of fashion design. Throughout this course, students ages 13 and up will delve into the art of creating captivating croquis and fashion sketches, honing their ability to convey movement, style, and personality through the medium of illustration.

Key Learning Objectives:

• Croquis and Fashion Sketching: Students will master the techniques of creating croquis and fashion sketches, focusing on proportion, anatomy, and gesture to bring their designs to life on paper.

• Mood/Concept Board Construction: Students will learn how to curate and construct mood and concept boards, effectively communicating their design inspiration and vision.

• Color Palette Development: Through hands-on exercises and exploration, students will develop their understanding of color theory and learn to craft cohesive and impactful color palettes for their designs.

• Fabric Study: Students will engage in fabric studies to deepen their understanding of different textiles, textures, and their suitability for various garment designs.

• Clothing Design Sketching on Models: Building upon their foundational skills, students will confidently sketch clothing designs on models, integrating their knowledge of anatomy.

• Pitch Development: Students will learn the art of pitching their series of designs, developing persuasive narratives and visual presentations to effectively communicate their creative concepts.

By the end of the course, students will emerge with a refined portfolio of fashion illustrations and designs, equipped with the skills and confidence to pursue their aspirations within the competitive realm of fashion design.

All the insights and techniques are hidden in the projects, so the kids get to go right into making things! This is for the artists out there that have been wanting to paint, but have been intimidated by a blank white canvas or feel their skill level is holding them back.

In this hands-on course, students ages 13 and up we’ll cover all things acrylic painting from start to finish with various techniques in between. We’ll break everything down into approachable steps with fun & rewarding results. At the end of this course, you’ll have braved those intimidating artistic blocks and feel adequate to start pursuing acrylic paintings independently.

Does your child spend hours drawing on their iPad? Are they looking for something fun to do this Summer? This is the class for them! In this digital drawing class, students ages 9 and up will learn to create on a MACC provided iPad using modern design and illustration techniques. This class does not require drawing skill.

Experience the world of ARTopia, where your child’s imagination can soar. In this fun studio art class, campers ages 5-8 will conceptualize, design, and create art projects in such mediums as painting, sculpting and drawing. Taught by local architect and seasoned expert James Edwards, this class is designed to introduce students ages 13 and up to architectural design and the role of the architect in the built environment.

The curriculum includes:

• What is an architect?

• Introduction to architectural drawing tools and their use.

• Review and discussion of the Program for this design exercise.

• Presentation of the site for the Project.

• Overview of the architectural design process.

• Development of presentation drawings for the Project.

Also included will be an introduction to:

• Residential construction systems and components.

• Scale.

• Basic residential architectural styles.

• Design presentations.

• Perspective drawing.

The goal is for each student to develop a design and presentation drawings for the Project.

Drafting and drawing tools will be provided.
