This course helps students ages 13 and up build confidence in the techniques of basic cookery. The development of knife skills, protein fabrication, sauces, and multitasking is accentuated.

This Course explores the use of ingredients in the preparation of traditional and contemporary cuisine. Sautéing, Grilling, Braising, and Roasting skills are enhanced. The concepts of mise en place, timelines, plate presentation, and teamwork are introduced and stressed. Students will work up to producing full course meals.

Does your child love to do animation? Pictures are better when they move! Using the MACC's provided iPads, students ages 9 and up will learn the art of motion and create animated GIFS to bring their characters to life using.

At the end of the week, campers will participate in a mini-reception with their instructor to share their creations with friends and family.

Experience the world of ARTopia, where your child’s imagination can soar. In this fun studio art class, campers ages 5-8 will conceptualize, design, and create art projects in such mediums as painting, sculpting and drawing. Each day, campers will have a blast making new friends and will feel confident, proud, and excited with every high five and “good job!” moment, knowing they are mastering new skills.

At the end of the week, campers will participate in a mini-reception with their instructor and afterward bring their artwork home to share with friends and family.

This intermediate/advance digital art course for campers ages 13 and up delves deep into the art of portrait drawing, focusing on developing a comprehensive understanding of facial anatomy and honing the skills required to create lifelike portraits.

Through a series of structured lessons, students will embark on a journey of understanding the underlying bone structure of the face to the nuances of facial features and expressions. The course begins with an in-depth exploration of facial anatomy. Building upon this foundation, students will then progress to the study of individual facial features, including eyes, noses, mouths, and ears. Through guided exercises and demonstrations, students will learn techniques to accurately capture the unique characteristics of each feature.

Students will have the opportunity to apply their newfound knowledge and skills to create portraits of themselves, classmates, and other characters from reference images. Emphasis will be placed on capturing likeness and personality. Guidance will be provided on digital drawing techniques, including layering, blending, and digital brush usage, to help students achieve professional-quality results. By the end of the course, students will have developed a strong proficiency in digital portrait art.

This intermediate digital illustration class for students ages 13 and up is an exciting and comprehensive course designed to introduce aspiring artists to the world of digital illustration using Procreate and iPads.  Throughout this course, students will have the opportunity to create illustrations based off of their favorite characters.

Students will pursue the following learning objectives:

• Learn the fundamentals of digital art, including the use of digital tools.
• Explore different digital art mediums such as painting, drawing and illustration.
• Explore various techniques specifically tailored for digital art such as color theory, composition, shading, and texturing.
• Improve lineart, line quality, and solid drawing techniques.
• Learn how to convey a message through art.
• Understand composition and visual storytelling.
• Understand how to mock up book and/or magazine spreads, which includes book covers and spines and digital layout.

No prior experience in digital art is required. This class is suitable for students with some artistic background who are eager to explore digital art techniques.

iPads and Apple Pencils are provided by the MACC, but you are welcome to bring your own.

One of our most popular camps! Painting and sculptures come to life with the imagination of young artists ages 8 and up. Campers will learn hand-building techniques, work with various types of clay and paint their own pieces. Campers will make pinch pot creatures and more!
