In this interactive mixed media class, campers ages 5 - 8 will be encouraged to think outside the box, get their hands messy and create unique masterpieces. Campers will unleash their inner artist to draw and paint bold and bright animals, funky shapes, seascapes, landscapes, the alphabet and more! Whatever their imagination compels them to make, they'll be guided by a master teacher who will make learning fun and engaging.

At the end of the week, campers will participate in a "share showcase" with their instructor to share with friends and family.

Does your child love any and all art materials? In this class, students ages 9-12 will have fun using their imaginations to create unique pieces in many different mediums. All the insights and techniques are hidden in the projects, so the kids get to go right into making things! By the end of the week, campers walk away with their artwork, a love for creative expression, and perhaps a new favorite technique.

At the end of the week, campers will participate in a mini-reception with their instructor and afterward bring their artwork home to share with friends and family.

Join our resident metal sculptor, Val Adams, for a hands-on adventure into the world of three-dimensional art. Students ages 13 and up will learn about the origins, history and impact sculpture has had on our world while creating sculptures of their own from a variety of materials such as metal, foam board, fabric and spray foam to name a few. Students will finish camp with 3 original pieces.  Bring your imagination and get ready to create!

Does your child spend hours drawing on their iPad? Are they looking for something fun to do this Summer? This is the class for them! In this digital drawing class, students ages 9 and up will learn to create on a MACC-provided iPad (campers are welcome to bring their own) using modern design and illustration techniques. Campers must have previous experience using the app Procreate.

Embark on a colorful journey of creativity and self-expression with our mixed media art class. This dynamic class for ages 6 - 10 is designed to introduce young artists to the exciting world of mixed media, where they can explore, experiment, and bring their imaginations to life through a variety of artistic techniques and materials.

Kids will explore a vibrant palette of paints, pastels, and more as they learn to layer and blend, creating stunning backgrounds for their mixed media masterpieces. Engage tiny hands in a tactile experience with a variety of textures. From smooth papers to textured fabrics, children will discover the sensory delight of different materials, adding depth and touchable elements to their creations.

Students will also learn the joy of drawing with various tools and techniques. From crayons to markers, children will develop their fine motor skills while expressing their creativity on paper and canvas. Engage in themed projects that encourage creative thinking and imagination. From fantasy landscapes to whimsical creatures, each project provides an opportunity for self-expression and exploration.

This course for students ages 13 and up is designed to elevate their artistic prowess and unleash their boundless creativity. Drawing upon the latest advancements in technology and digital artistry, students will explore a wide array of advanced techniques, applications, and concepts that will empower them to create stunning and visually captivating artworks.

Our curriculum is thoughtfully crafted to address the diverse needs of students and cater to different artistic styles and interests. Through hands-on projects, interactive discussions, and personalized guidance, students will delve into various aspects of digital art.

Students will delve into:

• Developing period-piece costuming
• Exploring advanced fantasy costume design
• Exploring color harmony and theory
• Exploring creature and non-human anatomy

The Lost and Found Sculpture Class offers a creative platform for students ages 13 and up to explore the intersection of art, sustainability, and resourcefulness.  In this class, students embark on a journey of artistic expression by constructing a large-scale sculpture entirely from recyclable materials.

Throughout the course, students are encouraged to unleash their imagination and ingenuity as they scour for discarded items that can be repurposed into meaningful artworks. From plastic bottles to cardboard boxes, each piece of material becomes a building block in the creation of a collaborative masterpiece.

Students will learn fundamental principles of sculpture, including design, structure, and balance. Through hands-on experimentation, they discover innovative techniques for manipulating materials and assembling components to bring their vision to life.
