Campers ages 9 and up will have fun learning cartooning techniques and storytelling. Young cartoonists will receive valuable tips and practice in sketching, sequencing and character design. Take your creations from pen and paper to the iPad and learn how to draw on Procreate. The MACC will provide iPads and Apple Pencils.

At the end of the week, the group will produce a visual novel and participate in a mini-reception with their instructor and share their work with friends and family.

Students ages 9 – 12 will explore the joy of drawing, painting, and creating with different materials and tools from pencils and markers to watercolors, acrylics, and beyond. Campers will learn fundamental drawing skills, explore color theory, and experiment with composition as they embark on a colorful adventure of artistic discovery.

From imaginative landscapes and whimsical characters, students will have the freedom to explore a wide range of themes and subjects, allowing them to express their unique perspectives and personalities through their artwork. Whether they're sketching a favorite animal, painting a vibrant self-portrait, or creating a mixed media masterpiece, every project is an opportunity for self-expression and creative exploration.

At the end of the week, campers will participate in a mini-reception with their instructor and afterward bring their artwork home to share with friends and family.

Does your child love any and all art materials? In this class, students ages 5-8 will have fun using their imaginations to create unique pieces in many different mediums. All the insights and techniques are hidden in the projects, so the kids get to go right into making things! By the end of the week, campers walk away with their artwork, a love for creative expression, and perhaps a new favorite technique.

Experience the world of ARTopia, where your child’s imagination can soar. In this fun studio art class, campers ages 5-8 will conceptualize, design, and create art projects in such mediums as painting, sculpting and drawing. Each day, campers will have a blast making new friends and will feel confident, proud, and excited with every high five and “good job!” moment, knowing they are mastering new skills.

Do you have a passion for people? Maybe you like to draw your own superheroes or monsters, and fill sketchbooks with unique stories and ideas that spill over from your daydreams. If that sounds like you, then this is the camp for you! Campers ages 9 and up will learn some of the fundamental concepts that make good character designs successful and how to implement them into their own designs using the app Procreate and Apple Pencils. iPads and Apple Pencils are provided by the MACC, but you are welcome to bring your own.
