Week 6 July 12 - 16
An Intro to Basic Short Filmmaking July 12 - July 16
with Amanda York
LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION! Future filmmakers ages 12-16 will get an overview of creating a short film starting with the writing process, pre-production, production, and post-production. We'll begin with some terminology and then go over the main job titles: writer, director, producer, cinematographer, sound, and editor as well as acting, giving campers the opportunity to experience what it's like to fill these different roles. Campers will create a 3-5 minute film. At the end of the camp, we will have a small family and friend screening that will take place at Nossi College of Art, where we will have a Q&A with the students and give them access to a copy of their film online.
Animation Maniacs (Intermediate) July 12 - 16
with Cara Dunning
Pictures are better when they move! Using the MACC's provided iPads, students ages 12 and up will learn the art of motion and create animated GIFS to bring their characters to life. At the end of the week, campers will participate in a mini-reception with their instructor to share their creations with friends and family.
