Digital Drawing: Advanced - Mondays
with Jess Duke

This course for students ages 13 and up is designed to elevate their artistic prowess and unleash their boundless creativity.
Drawing upon the latest advancements in technology and digital artistry, students will explore a wide array of advanced techniques, applications, and concepts that will empower them to create stunning and visually captivating artworks.
Our curriculum is thoughtfully crafted to address the diverse needs of students and cater to different artistic styles and interests. Through hands-on projects, interactive discussions, and personalized guidance, students will delve into various aspects of digital art.
iPads and Apple Pencils are provided by the MACC, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Students will continue to grow previous skills and pursue the following learning objectives:
- Use and improve digital coloring techniques
- Understand one-point perspective
- Shading and understanding light sources
- Learn animation tools
- How to create custom brushes
- Improve in lineart, line quality, and solid drawing techniques
- Visualize 3D objects in 2D environments
- Learn color theory and continuation of digital painting techniques
- Learn composition, perspective, still life and figure drawing
- Understand digital art ergonomics and form
- Learn how to use editing tools in Procreate
Please note class will not be held on Labor Day (September 4) or October 2nd (Fall Break).

Digital Drawing: Intermediate - Mondays

This course for students ages 9 and up is designed to elevate their artistic prowess and unleash their boundless creativity.

Mix it Up Media - Mondays
with Jessica Lewis

*Note: If your child has taken this class before, the previous projects will not be repeated and the students will continue with the learning objectives.
This drawing and painting class is designed for creative young minds ages 11 to 17 who have a passion for art and want to further understand the technical side of drawing and painting.
Observational skills are critical in creating an accurate and realistic piece of art. This course teaches students the importance of observing the world around them as a way of finding inspiration for their artwork and learning how to accurately represent it. Students will also have space to explore and experiment with different types of mark making and paint application.
This semester class will also spend time on the art of the portrait. Students will learn the basic anatomy of the face and how to accurately draw the head. Jessica will provide step-by-step instructions on how to accurately draw facial features as students also look at the work of master artists in history for inspiration.
Finally, whether your child is pursuing a career in the arts or just enjoys creating art for fun, building a portfolio is an important step in the process. This class will start the discussion on how to build a portfolio, which is essential in showcasing their talent.
Students will pursue the following learning objectives:
- Explore color, tone, and value (primary, secondary, tertiary and color harmonies; will also explore perspective, line, rhythm, and movement).
- Explore form, space, shape.
- Explore emphasis, texture, unity, balance, and pattern.
- Explore procedure and appropriate usage of materials.
- Explore concepts (could include, but not limited to, landscape, museum, design, portraits, creatures, still life, world art, universal themes and personal expression).
- Explore proportion and different types of perspectives.
- Explore composition using the art elements.
- Explore pattern, texture, rhythm.

Artopia - Tuesdays

Join us for this vibrant and imaginative Mixed Media Art Class designed exclusively for students ages 5 to 8! This dynamic and engaging course is a perfect platform for aspiring young artists, since it encourages them to explore a wide range of artistic techniques and materials.
Throughout the course, our experienced and passionate art instructors will guide your child through a series of captivating projects combining painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, clay and more. Projects may include such themes as animals, books and pop culture, just to name a few.
Students will pursue the following learning objectives during this semester-long course:
- Explore Line.
- Explore color (color wheel)
- Explore shapes (organic and inorganic)
- Explore texture.
- Explore forms.
- Explore emphasis, pattern, and balance.
- Explore concepts (could include, but not limited to landscape, portraits, creatures, still life and historical landmarks).
- Explore realistic and abstract ideas.
By experimenting with different textures, colors and materials, children will unleash their imagination and learn to express themselves artistically. Additionally, small class sizes ensure that each child receives personalized attention and guidance from the instructor.

Color & Clay - Tuesdays

This Clay and Painting class is designed for creative young minds ages 9 and up. Students will explore the endless possibilities of ceramic art, where they will combine various materials and techniques to create captivating and multidimensional artwork.
By experimenting with different textures and colors students will develop their artistic skills and discover their own unique style of expression.
Students will pursue the following learning objectives:
- Explore color, tone, and value (primary, secondary, tertiary and color harmonies; will also explore perspective, line, rhythm, and movement).
- Explore form, space, shape.
- Explore emphasis, texture, unity, balance, and pattern.
- Explore procedure and appropriate usage of materials.
- Explore concepts (could include, but not limited to, landscape, museum, design, portraits, creatures, still life, world art, universal themes and personal expression).
- Explore proportion and different types of perspectives.
- Explore composition using the art elements.
- Explore pattern, texture, styles, and shape to their clay pieces.
- Learn how to produce decorative and functional clay pieces.
- Learn the basics of sculpting through teaching and hands on work.
- Learn how to add stability and shape into their clay sculptures.
By achieving these learning objectives, students will not only enhance their artistic abilities but also develop valuable life skills such as creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. They will gain the confidence to experiment, innovate, and express themselves through a variety of artistic mediums.

Manga & Anime: Beginners - Wednesdays

This drawing, coloring and painting class is designed for creative young minds ages 10 and up. Students will explore the endless possibilities of drawing, coloring and painting to create captivating 2D artwork.
Throughout the class, students will create their own manga comic from start to finish while using the highest quality markers, pens, and inks. By experimenting with different textures, colors, and materials, students will develop their artistic skills and discover their own unique style of expression.
Students will pursue the following learning objectives:
- Explore color, tone, and value (primary, secondary, tertiary and color harmonies; will also explore perspective, line, rhythm, and movement).
- Explore form, space, shape.
- Explore emphasis, texture, unity, balance, and pattern.
- Explore procedure and appropriate usage of materials.
- Explore concepts (could include, but not limited to, landscape, museum, design, portraits, creatures, still life, world art, universal themes and personal expression).

Exploring Mixed Media - Thursdays

This mixed media class is designed for creative young minds ages 9 and up. Students will explore the endless possibilities of mixed media art, where they will combine various materials and techniques to create captivating and multidimensional artwork.
Projects will include squished paint art, Mandala painted clay bowls, expressive watercolor portraits and more! By experimenting with different textures, colors, and materials, students will develop their artistic skills and discover their own unique style of expression.
Students will pursue the following learning objectives:
