In this class, students will master the basics of drawing. This 6 week class is designed for beginner to intermediate learners. Guided lessons will teach students how to set up a composition and will emphasize and incorporate the use of art elements and principles of design. Special emphasis will be on light, value, and shading techniques. Gain an understanding of drawing supplies and how to properly use them. Students will walk away with tools, techniques and ways of looking at drawing to continue their practice with confidence!

In this digital drawing class students will learn to create attractive and beautiful artwork on a MACC provided iPad using modern illustration techniques by Cara Dunning.

This class is intended for those students who would like to learn how to transition from drawing into oil painting and for those who would like to develop their skills further. We will work from prints of masterworks to study and explore paint techniques and how to apply principles of drawing, light and color mixing. Classes will begin with a brief lecture and demonstration and then continue with one on one help throughout.

A supply list will be provided upon registration so students can learn how to invest in a good basic set of equipment and also continue to learn and create at home.  You also have the option of paying a $50 supply fee to the teacher and all materials needed for the class will be provided.

Working with watercolors is a great way to let your artistic side shine! This class will cover the basics of watercolor painting from brush strokes, mixing colors and shades, using wet and dry techniques and making the most out of those inevitable mistakes! Mastering the art of watercolors comes with practice and we develop these skills by creating landscapes, botanicals, and even some free-flowing abstracts. We will also work together through a still life composition developing the eye for light and perspective.

Learn to photograph like a pro! In advanced photography learn what it takes to step up your game! In this class we will focus on when to push the button, editing techniques, and what programs work and how (Editing programs are not required but options will be available as we go over them).

We will use class time to photograph and critique images to find out what makes them stand out. You will learn when and how to look for the best locations and what takes them to the next level. We will also study the different types of photography and learn strong techniques to build solid foundations for the ones of interest.

At the end of the course we will build each student a digital portfolio from their collection and print the best one. Students will need a dslr camera for this class.

If you've ever wanted to learn to paint, this class is for you! Using the easy medium of acrylic paint, learn the basic techniques and processes of painting as you work from photographic images. Students will explore the basics of painting a variety of subjects including still life, florals, and landscapes. Learn how to use your materials and brushes to get different effects and to use color and value to build depth and details as well as how to mix paint and match color.
